The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) developed the Impact Texas Drivers program to prevent road accidents and save lives. The program uses a free video to teach new drivers about the dangers of distracted driving. You can complete the program online using a desktop computer or laptop.
Everyone applying for a driver’s license in Texas must watch an Impact Texas Drivers video before taking their driving skills examination. The program has two versions: Impact Texas Teen Drivers and Impact Texas Young Drivers.
Texas DPS requires drivers to watch the video after completing their driver education course.
After you finish the video, print the certificate of completion provided by Texas DPS and bring it to the driver license office when you’re ready to take your driving skills examination.
