Ra was the Sun God–he gave light and warmth. He was a member of the Great Ennead. The Ennead were the nine most important gods and goddesses. This group was the original gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt. Ra ruled over all the gods and he also ruled the sky, the Earth, and the underworld.
