osmosis
The movement of water from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration is known as osmosis. This is a specific type of diffusion that applies to water molecules across a selectively permeable membrane. In osmosis, water moves from a region where it is more concentrated (lower solute concentration) to a region where it is less concentrated (higher solute concentration). This process continues until equilibrium is reached, meaning the concentration of water is equal on both sides of the membrane.
