Julius Caesar was assassinated by senators. On March 15, 44 BC, known as the Ides of March, a group of around 60 conspirators, including prominent senators, attacked and killed him to prevent him from gaining too much power. This event was a critical moment in Roman history, leading to the end of the Roman Republic and the rise of the Roman Empire.
